Ríos will join Al-Ittihad for one season in a deal worth 3 million euros.
According to the Okaz newspaper, Colombian Richard Ríos will arrive in Jeddah on Thursday via a private jet in preparation for joining Al-Ittihad.
The report clarified that the player will participate in the team's training sessions and is expected to start in the classic match against Al-Nassr on Saturday.
The Saudi Pro League's summer transfer window closes on September 6.
Al-Ittihad is looking to strengthen its midfield following the departure of Brazilian Fabinho, who recently joined Turkish club Trabzonspor.
Reports indicated that Al-Ittihad was interested in signing Al-Ahly duo Imam Ashour and Marwan Gattal.
However, Ashour and Gattal have renewed their contracts with Al-Ahly until 2030, closing the door on their potential departures.
Ríos has been playing for Benfica since the summer of 2025, having arrived from Brazilian club Palmeiras.
Ríos previously played against Al-Ahly with Palmeiras in the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup, a match the Brazilian team won 2-0.
