Swedish club AIK announced the signing of Chilean midfielder Lucas Asadi, who joins from Universidad de Chile, as part of strengthening their squad during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Mika Takula, AIK's head of recruitment, stated that Asadi is a player with high technical abilities and great intelligence, noting that he can play in central midfield, on the wings, and in various roles, adding that his numbers and statistics were very convincing.
He added: "The player is characterized by his constant desire to push attacks forward through his ball-carrying movements, passing, and runs, and his style fits perfectly with the team's playing method."
For his part, Asadi expressed his happiness about moving to Sweden and joining AIK, confirming that he did not hesitate to accept the offer after speaking with the team's coach, José Ribeiro, who previously managed Al-Ahly last season.
Asadi is 22 years old and participated in 146 official matches with his former club, scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists, while also earning 6 caps for the senior Chilean national team.
Lucas Asadi's name was previously linked with a move to Al-Ahly last winter, as Chilean media reports confirmed interest from the Red Devils' officials, though the club did not take formal steps to finalize the deal.
