Media reports confirmed that the German Football Association reached an agreement with veteran coach Jürgen Klopp to assume the coaching of the German national team.
Julian Nagelsmann had submitted his resignation from coaching "the machines" days ago, after exiting the round of 32 in the 2026 World Cup at the hands of Paraguay.
According to what was reported by the German newspaper "Bild", a delegation from the German Football Association will meet with Klopp in the coming days to complete the required procedures for his appointment, after an agreement was reached with him verbally.
The report indicated that the contract will extend for 4 years, so that Klopp remains coach of his country's national team until the 2030 World Cup.
Klopp, who currently holds an administrative position with the "Red Bull" group that owns several clubs, will receive a salary slightly higher than 7 million euros.
The German Football Association will not pay any transfer fees to "Red Bull" to terminate Klopp's current contract with the group, and it is expected that the former Liverpool coach will remain associated with the company as a brand ambassador.
