Amr Azmy Megahed, the former Egyptian football star, affirmed that he is against hiring a sporting director for Zamalek due to the current crises facing the club. He pointed out that the board wants to hire a sporting director to ease their own burden, but asked where are the signings, tools, and funds with which the sporting director would work.
In radio statements on "Mega FM" radio, Amr Azmy said: "The football team is the cake of the club and must be strengthened. What happened last season will not happen again. They might win the league, but this is illogical and an exception."
The former Zamalek star added: "Some members of Zamalek have started thinking about improving some services for club members because they want to run in the upcoming elections."
He continued: "Ahmed Fattouh possesses wonderful capabilities, but his transfer to the Libyan league does not suit him. He deserves to play in European leagues. When will Zamalek stop selling its key players? The Zamalek board must find solutions to renew the player's contract."

He completed: "If you do not have the ability to renew the player's contract, and if you are responsible enough, resign. There were many solutions proposed by the Zamalek board during the elections, but currently, where are these solutions and ideas?"
He added: "Those who put the club in this situation must be held accountable, along with all those who brought in signings that contributed nothing while receiving money from Zamalek and staying at home. The Ministry of Sports must intervene."
