Turkish club Trabzonspor has begun planning to identify the team's needs ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window.
The 61saat website reported that President Ertuğrul Doğan and coach Thomas Reis met to discuss transfer matters and assess the squad's requirements.
The report added that Trabzonspor plans to strengthen its midfield during the winter transfer window; coach Thomas Reis has requested signing a midfielder as a top priority, and the management has reached an agreement on this matter.
The report indicated that President Ertuğrul Doğan also plans to add at least one star player to the team in line with the set objective.
The report claimed that the team, which had strengthened almost all positions at the start of the season, has not yet reached the required level of productivity, particularly from the midfield.
It was noted that Doğan is also aware of the team's shortcomings and that work has already begun on reinforcements to be made during the mid-season break.
Trabzonspor, which has ambitions in four different competitions—the Turkish Super Lig, the UEFA Conference League, the Turkish Cup, and the Super Cup—plans to increase the depth of its squad.
Mohamed Salah joined Trabzonspor at the beginning of the current season on a free transfer.
