Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh revealed that Brazilian Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli will not be included in Al-Hilal's plans for their upcoming "Clásico" match against Al-Ahli in the Saudi League.
Al-Hilal will face Al-Ahli on Tuesday in the postponed match of Round 3 of the Saudi Roshn League, at King Fahd International Stadium (Kingdom Arena).
According to a special source for the newspaper, Martinelli was excluded from Al-Hilal's squad for the match due to insufficient time available to register him before the encounter.
Al-Hilal's management had previously reached a final agreement with Arsenal and the Brazilian player regarding all terms of the deal, paving the way for his joining the team during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Martinelli is expected to undergo medical examinations in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with arrangements being made for his arrival within the next two days, prior to officially completing his transfer to Al-Hilal.
Martinelli joined Arsenal in January 2019 from Brazilian club Ituano, gradually securing his place within the squad before becoming one of their key attacking options in recent years. His contract with the London club runs until summer 2027.
