Silvian Cristescu, one of the closest associates of Mihai Rotaru, owner of the Romanian club Universitatea Craiova, has opened the door for the transfer of Asad Al-Hamlawi, the team's player, to the ranks of Pyramids during the current summer transfer window.
Romanian press reports had revealed in recent days that an offer worth 5 million euros had reached Universitatea Craiova from Pyramids to sign Asad Al-Hamlawi.
Universitatea Craiova had exited the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League after drawing 2-2 with Levski Sofia in the return leg, as the Bulgarian side benefited from their 1-0 first-leg win to secure qualification to the next round.
Silvian Cristescu said in statements to the Romanian site Fanatik that the club's management should seriously consider selling Al-Hamlawi, given that it received an offer worth five million euros, especially after the exit from the UEFA Champions League.
The former Universitatea Craiova player added: "If the decision were up to me and I received a good offer for one of the players, I would agree to sell him, because that would be in the interest of both the club and the player as well."
He continued: "The club should not enter into financial crises or issues related to financial fair play, while it can achieve a significant financial return."
He added: "It is natural for the player to think about moving if his salary will rise from 20 thousand euros per month to 50 or 60 thousand, and five million euros is an excellent value for selling any player in the current squad."
Silvian Cristescu concluded his statements by saying: "But if the offers are in the range of one and a half million, two million, or two and a half million, these are the prices at which we buy players, not the ones at which we sell them."
Romanian press considered Silvian Cristescu's statements as a prelude to the announcement of the transfer of the Palestinian striker Asad Al-Hamlawi to the ranks of Pyramids, given the close relationship between him and Mihai Rotaru, the club owner.
