Niccolò Schira, a journalist specializing in transfer market news, revealed that Leão turned down a substantial offer from the Saudi League and currently prefers not to move there.

The report clarified that the Portuguese international favors a transfer to Turkey's Galatasaray over moving to the Saudi League at this time.

However, the issue facing Galatasaray is that the club is unwilling to pay more than €35 million, while Milan is seeking €50 million.

The report added that the player does not mind staying another season with Milan if the Italian club fails to reach an agreement with Galatasaray.

Galatasaray previously submitted its initial offer to Milan to sign Leão.

The newspaper TuttoMercato revealed that Galatasaray's offer was €30 million plus €5 million in add-ons, but it was rejected by Milan.

Leão has played 227 matches for Milan, scoring 64 goals and providing 45 assists.

Milan finished last season in fifth place with 70 points.

Rafael Leão was absent from Milan's squad for yesterday Sunday's first Serie A match against Torino, which the Rossoneri won thrillingly 2-1.

Milan will face Venezia in the second round of Serie A on Friday at the San Siro stadium.
