The report noted that Al-Riyadh had previously agreed with Al-Ahly to sign Trezeguet for $1.2 million before Al-Ahly backed out and requested an additional half a million dollars.

The Saudi newspaper attributed the reason to the lack of clarity regarding the financial requirements related to the deal, in addition to the delay in finalizing it from the Egyptian side, which prompted the club not to continue the talks according to the same report.
Saudi club Al-Riyadh entered into serious negotiations with Al-Ahly to sign Egyptian international Mahmoud Hassan "Trezeguet".
The 31-year-old winger is under contract with Al-Ahly until the summer of 2030.
Trezeguet joined Al-Ahly in the last summer transfer window from Turkish club Trabzonspor.
The Egyptian international was formed at Al-Ahly before leaving for several experiences outside Egypt.
Trezeguet participated in 32 matches during the past season with Al-Ahly, scoring 18 goals and providing one assist.
He won the African Champions League top scorer award for the past season after scoring 6 goals.
