The Referees Committee of the Egyptian Football Association analyzed the controversial incidents that occurred during the second round of the 2026–2027 Egyptian Premier League season.
The official page of the Football Association published a video analyzing the contentious refereeing decisions from the second week of the Egyptian Premier League.
According to the analysis issued by the Referees Committee, a red card should have been shown to Ali Mahmoud, an Al-Ahly player, in the match against ZED, as well as to Mahmoud Zalaka, a Pyramids FC player, in the match against Abu Qir Fertilizers.
The Referees Committee's analysis also confirmed that ZED FC did not deserve a penalty kick in their match against Al-Ahly following a handball incident involving Moroccan player Ashraf Bencharki (Al-Ahly's number 17) inside the penalty area.

- There was a missed yellow card incident for Al-Ahly's player number 21 (Ali Mahmoud) following his challenge on a ZED player, which should have led to a second yellow card and consequently a red card.

- Regarding ZED players' appeal for a handball call against Al-Ahly's player number 17 (Ashraf Bencharki): upon reviewing the footage, the ball struck the player's hand while it was in a natural position, justified under the rules, hence no penalty kick should be awarded.

- There was a missed sending-off by both the match referee and the VAR official due to violent conduct by Pyramids FC's player number 17 (Mahmoud Zalaka). The VAR should have called the referee to review the incident and issue a red card.

Referees Committee Analysis of the Zamalek vs. National Bank of Egypt Match
- National Bank of Egypt players appealed for a yellow card against Zamalek's player number 13 (Ahmed Fathou). After replaying and analyzing the incident, it was determined that the foul was committed negligently, as the hand did not reach the face and there was only shoulder pushing.
* The Referees Committee's decision is that Zamalek's player number 13 (Ahmed Fathou) committed a negligent foul, but no yellow card should be issued in this case.
