Press reports revealed that the Portuguese Football Federation is under significant pressure to resolve the crisis between Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Jesus, which led to his departure from the team's camp.

The Portuguese national team faced Denmark in the third round of the 2027 UEFA Nations League, securing a hard-fought victory with three goals against two.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not participate in Portugal's match against Norway last Sunday evening, remaining on the bench throughout the game due to a decision by coach Jorge Jesus, which angered the captain of the European Brazil.

Ronaldo had met with the president of the Portuguese Federation and Jesus, and the issue was resolved among all parties.

Subsequently, a video circulated documenting Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Portugal national team's training facility after coach Jorge Jesus's press conference.

Cristiano Ronaldo issued a strong statement via his official account on the social media platform "Instagram," hinting at his retirement from international football.

According to the Portuguese newspaper "Record," there is significant pressure on Pedro Proença due to the crisis between Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Jesus.

It reported that the president of the Portuguese Federation is facing moves and pressures from political figures, government entities, and prominent economic circles in the country, in an attempt to contain the dispute and restore normalcy within the national team.

It mentioned that the crisis has reached a more sensitive stage amid fears that its repercussions could extend beyond Portugal's bid to host the 2030 World Cup.

It indicated that financial institutions and business circles are also pressuring the president of the Portuguese Federation, as these pressures stem from concerns about potential financial losses resulting from the continuation of the crisis.

It concluded that these concerns arise because a large portion of the Portuguese national team's commercial and media revenues are linked to Cristiano's presence, along with the accompanying popularity, viewership, and marketing interest.
