Saudi press reports have revealed the reasons behind the failure of young Monaco midfielder Babi Cabral's transfer to Al-Ahli during the summer transfer window.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat," the failed signing of Babi Cabral stems from the cancellation of the contract of the Saudi club's sporting director, as the current period witnesses moves to reorganize affairs within Al-Ahli club.
The Saudi newspaper added that the deal ended with a decision by Al-Ahli club's management not to finalize the signing of Cabral, despite an agreement being reached between both clubs' managements on financial details.
Earlier, the French newspaper "L'Équipe" reported that the two clubs had reached an agreement worth 10 million euros to secure the services of the 19-year-old, along with a resale clause amounting to 15%.
In recent hours, Al-Ahli club's management announced the departure of the Portuguese Rui Pedro, amid criticism from fans directed at him due to the performance level of new signings.
Al-Ahli suffered defeats in their last two Saudi League matches, specifically losing 3-1 to Al-Kholood, followed by a 3-0 loss against Al-Hilal.
Consequently, Al-Ahli dropped to eighth place in the standings of the Saudi Roshn League, with the team's tally standing at only six points.
