Spanish club Real Madrid has made a final decision regarding the future of team star Vinicius Junior, according to press reports on Friday, amid ongoing speculation about the possibility of his departure that summer.
The Brazilian player's current contract with Real Madrid is set to expire in June 2027, at the end of next season, without any agreement between the two parties on renewal.
Recent press reports have emerged indicating that Arsenal has a strong desire to obtain the services of Vinicius Junior, to the extent that the administration will grant him the most expensive contract in the club's history.
Reports two days ago indicated that Real Madrid's reaction to Arsenal's interest in signing Vinicius Junior was to present a new offer to renew his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Marca" on Friday, after months of stalled negotiations, Real Madrid decided to move to settle the future of Vinicius Junior, as the administration believes that the time has come to end the state of uncertainty surrounding him.
It explained that Real Madrid informed Vinicius Junior's agents that the latest offer to renew his contract is final, and there will be no increases or another round of negotiations, and therefore the situation is clear.
It indicated that the situation consists of two directions with no third, either Vinicius Junior agrees to the offer and thus renews his contract, or rejects it, which means selling him that summer to prevent his free departure next year.
It continued that Real Madrid considers Vinicius Junior a key player and the administration's priority is to renew his contract, as they see that he deserves great appreciation thanks to his performance in the past years, but at the same time they have a red line, which is not to disrupt the team's salary structure.
Real Madrid does not want to change its policy regarding the players' salary scale, no matter how important the player concerned is.
