Real Madrid announced on Wednesday that their player Raúl Asencio will undergo surgery
The club clarified via its website that Asencio will have surgery on Thursday due to a stress fracture in his right leg.
Real Madrid did not announce the duration of Asencio's absence.
Meanwhile, Marca newspaper reported that Raúl Asencio will be out for between two and four months following this surgery.
The report explained that the player has been suffering from this injury since last season.
The Real Madrid defender was forced to step aside again due to feeling new pain in the injured area, which was the decisive factor in making the decision to proceed with surgery.
The idea of surgery had been on the table for Asencio since the end of last season.
When the possibility of resorting to it was actually discussed, taking advantage of the summer period to minimize the impact of the long recovery time, he did not undergo it at that time.
