Raphinha excluded from Brazil's training camp

Globo Esporte reported that the Brazilian national team's coaching staff has decided to exclude Barcelona forward Raphinha Dias from the team's training camp.

Raphinha left the pitch at halftime of Tuesday's friendly match between Brazil and Australia due to injury.

Although he was not diagnosed with a thigh tear, and the issue was limited to a simple bruise, the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to avoid worsening the condition.

The report added that the Brazilian national team has decided to send Raphinha back to his club as a precautionary measure for fear of aggravating the injury.

The report stated that Raphinha will not travel with the Selecao to Kolkata to play next Saturday's friendly against India.

According to the report, the Brazilian national team will not call up another player to replace him.

The Barcelona star returned to feeling pain in his right thigh, the same area where he suffered four injuries that kept him out of action for more than 150 days last season.

Raphinha was one of Brazil's standout players under Carlo Ancelotti during the current international break. He wore the number 10 shirt, took on the captaincy in the absence of Marquinhos, and became the primary penalty taker for the Brazilian national team.

Before being substituted at halftime of the match against Australia, Raphinha was Brazil's best player in the first half, managing to score the equalizer for Brazil from a penalty in the 45th minute.

Raphinha had played all the minutes in the first friendly match against Australia.

The 29-year-old player has featured in 8 matches for Barcelona this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 3 assists.
