Qatari club Al-Shamal announced the termination of its contract with Akram Tawfik, the team's player, before the start of the new 2026-2027 season competitions.
Al-Shamal Club directed thanks in an official statement to player Akram Tawfik, for the period he spent with the team over the past season.
The official statement from Al-Shamal clarified that Akram Tawfik had contributed with his fellow players in achieving distinguished results with Al-Shamal during the past season, during which the team succeeded in obtaining the second place in the Qatari League standings for the first time in its history, after a strong competition for the title until the last round of the competition.
Egyptian midfielder Akram Tawfik had transferred to the ranks of Qatari Al-Shamal last summer, in a free transfer deal, after the end of his contract with Al-Ahly Club.
The 28-year-old player played 23 matches with Al-Shamal Club, in all official tournaments, during which he did not score any goal, but he made 3 goals.
Akram Tawfik had previously played 145 matches with Al-Ahly Club, during which he scored 3 goals and made 7 others, and won the Egyptian League, African Champions League, Egypt Cup, Egyptian Super Cup, and African Super Cup titles.
