In the 48th minute, Ouda Al-Fakhouri scored Pyramids' second goal with a powerful strike from outside the penalty area that nestled into Abu Qir's net.
Minutes later, Al-Fakhouri found the net again in the 54th minute, but the referee disallowed the goal due to offside.
After an hour of play, South African coach Rolani Mokwena made his first substitutions in the 60th minute, bringing on Ahmed Abdelkader and Nasser Maher while replacing Zalaka and Walid El Karti.
In the 73rd minute, referee Hamada El-Qallawi denied Youssef Obama his second personal goal by disallowing it for offside.
The 81st minute witnessed a dangerous opportunity for the Sky Blues when Mostafa Fathi dribbled into Abu Qir's penalty area before hitting the post with his shot.
The 82nd minute saw Abu Qir Fertilizers' most threatening moment of the match, as Ali Hussein's header struck the right post of Pyramids' goal.
With this victory, Pyramids topped the Egyptian Premier League standings after two rounds, raising their tally to 6 points, while Abu Qir Fertilizers dropped to eighth place with 3 points.
