South Sudan's Al-Merrikh Juba defeated Somalia's Heegan by a single goal without reply in the match held this Saturday evening, as part of the first-leg Round of 64 fixtures in the 2026–2027 CAF Champions League season.
Al-Merrikh Bantio's goal came in the 15th minute through player Tout Mait, who gave his team the lead before halftime, while the second half saw no further developments.
With this result, Sudan's Al-Merrikh Bantio has secured a strong foothold advancing to the Round of 32 in the CAF Champions League and is nearing a confrontation with the winner of the match between Pyramids FC and Kenya's Gor Mahia.

Pyramids FC will face Kenya's Gor Mahia tomorrow, Sunday, at 3:00 PM Cairo and Saudi time, at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya, in the first leg of the African preliminary round.
It is worth noting that the return leg between Pyramids FC and Gor Mahia will be held at 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo, according to the schedule set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
