Pyramids FC, led by South African coach Rolani Mokwena, continued their perfect start to the current season after securing a valuable away victory against Kenya's Gor Mahia in the CAF Champions League.
Pyramids earned a well-deserved 2-0 win over Gor Mahia on their home turf in the match played this Sunday evening, as part of the first leg of the preliminary round one of the 2026-2027 CAF Champions League season.
Walid El Karti and Mahmoud Saber scored both goals for Pyramids, putting the Sky Blues one foot into the second preliminary round ahead of next Sunday's return leg at the Air Defense Stadium.
With this victory, Pyramids extended their positive run since the season began, having achieved maximum points in the Egyptian Premier League by winning their first three matches.
Pyramids kicked off their league campaign with a 3-0 win over Ghazl El Mahalla, followed by a clean 2-0 victory over Abu Qir Fertilizers, and then secured a 1-0 win against Al Masry.
Following their triumph over Gor Mahia, Pyramids raised their tally to four consecutive victories across all competitions this season, continuing their ideal start under Mokwena's leadership.
Pyramids' goal remained untouched during their first four matches this season, as the team successfully scored eight goals—six in the Egyptian Premier League and two in the CAF Champions League.
Pyramids are now preparing to continue their Egyptian Premier League journey when they face El Gouna in the fourth round at 5:00 PM next Wednesday.
