The Egyptian Cabinet announced a meeting between Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly with Hussein Labib, President of Zamalek Club, Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, and Jawhar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, to discuss resolving the club's land crisis in Mit Okba.
The meeting was also attended by Khaled Al-Tayeb, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Endowments Authority, along with a number of officials concerned with the file.
Prime Minister Madbouly affirmed at the outset of the meeting that the state is working to remove obstacles facing sports clubs and support them in a way that ensures the continuation of their sporting and social role, stressing that the government attaches great importance to the youth and sports sector and seeks to support the stability of its facilities and maximize their utilization.
Madbouly pointed out that the government had previously intervened to resolve Zamalek Club's land crisis in the October Gardens City, noting that the current meeting comes as part of efforts to reach a consensual formula that ensures the Endowments Authority obtains its rights, while at the same time preserving Zamalek Club's stability amid the challenges it faces.
For his part, the Minister of Endowments reviewed the land situation and the solutions proposed by the Endowments Authority to resolve the crisis, affirming that the proposals put forward represent "out-of-the-box ideas" aimed at achieving a balance between the Authority's rights and supporting Zamalek amid its current financial circumstances, with full coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports on this file.
In turn, the Minister of Youth and Sports stressed the existence of great cooperation and flexibility on the part of the Ministry of Endowments and its officials, affirming that the shared goal is to solve the problems of clubs and youth centers and remove the obstacles they face, whether related to the Ministry or any other government entity.
Khaled Al-Tayeb, Chairman of the Egyptian Endowments Authority, revealed the existence of integrated proposals to address the crisis based on a new partnership model between the Authority and Zamalek Club, ensuring the protection of the Endowments' rights while taking into account the club's financial situation and benefiting from the land's prime location to achieve sustainable economic returns for both parties.
He explained that the proposed vision revolves around two main proposals aimed at creating a balance between preserving the Authority's rights and enabling Zamalek to fulfill its obligations by providing real and sustainable sources of income, noting that the financial and legal studies for the project are still being prepared to reach the best possible formula.
For his part, Hussein Labib, President of Zamalek Club, affirmed the existence of full cooperation between the club and the Endowments Authority during the current period, pointing to a genuine desire from all parties to reach a solution that satisfies everyone and ends the crisis once and for all.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister directed the completion of all economic and traffic studies related to the projects proposed for implementation within the framework of the partnership between the Endowments Authority and Zamalek Club, in preparation for reaching a radical and final solution to the land crisis in the coming period.
