The veteran Portuguese full-back João Cancelo is close to settling his future with his Saudi team Al-Hilal, after returning to undergo his preparatory training for the new season.
Barcelona wants to keep the services of João Cancelo, who contributed to winning the Spanish League and Spanish Super Cup titles last season with Hansi Flick.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport", Simone Inzaghi did not call up João Cancelo to Al-Hilal's squad against Al-Faisaly in the opening of the Saudi Professional League.
Inzaghi believes that Cancelo has not regained his best physical condition to participate in matches, despite his recent return to Al-Hilal Saudi training, in a positive indicator that gives Barcelona a strong boost regarding regaining the Portuguese's services.

Excluding João Cancelo from Al-Hilal's squad for the opening round match in the Saudi League increases the mystery surrounding his future, as talks with Barcelona continue regarding his transfer with a permanent transfer contract.
Barcelona aspires to permanently acquire Cancelo due to his convincing performance during his loan period last season, however, the point of disagreement appears to be the value of the deal as Al-Hilal insists on obtaining 10 million euros for the Portuguese who has one year left on his contract, while Barca demands a reduction in the amount, so the talks did not yield positive results.
Barcelona aims to conclude the deal to sign Cancelo as soon as possible, so that Hansi Flick can rely on him before the start of La Liga competitions next week.
