Colombian Juan Carlos Osorio, former coach of Zamalek Club, praised what the Egyptian national team presented in the 2026 World Cup, revealing his attempt to include Hossam Abdel Majeed in the Mexican league.

Osorio took charge of coaching Zamalek in 2023 and only lasted 22 matches in the position of technical director.

Osorio said in statements via MBC Egypt 2 channel: "African teams have shown their development through the 2026 World Cup and they could have reached bigger roles because they presented a distinguished performance".

He added: "The Egyptian national team showed its superiority in the group stage matches and I saw that it was in control of the course of the three encounters".

He continued: "In the match against Argentina, I was on one of the programs and applauded because of the wonderful way Hossam Hassan started the match".

He went on: "After taking a two-goal lead, I saw the necessity of making some changes in the match management strategy by defending from the midfield Midfield Block and then relying on transitions".

He completed: "Haitham Hassan should have stayed on the pitch against Argentina if he was not injured, and Zizo was supposed to get more time".

The former Zamalek coach pointed out: "I see that the goal that was canceled for the Egyptian national team against Argentina is the most beautiful goal in the tournament".

Regarding his opinion on Hossam Abdel Majeed, the Zamalek defender, turning professional in the Bulgarian league, he said: "I am very happy with Hossam Abdel Majeed turning professional, and I tried to include him two years ago when I was the coach of Mexican club Tijuana, but unfortunately the deal did not go through".
