The Dutch Football Association announced the appointment of Spaniard Xavi Hernandez as technical director of the first team, succeeding Ronald Koeman.
The Netherlands decided on the departure of Ronald Koeman after the disappointing exit from the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup against Morocco.
The Dutch Association said through its official website that Xavi Hernandez was appointed as the new coach of the first national team.
He added: "The Spanish coach, who is 46 years old, assumes the task succeeding Ronald Koeman, after reaching an agreement with the Dutch Football Association, which stipulates signing a contract that extends until the 2030 World Cup finals".
Xavi returns to coaching after two years of absence following his departure from Barcelona in May 2024.
