The Egyptian Football Association, chaired by Hany Abu Rida, announced the return of Orange Club to participate in the Second Division League competition for the sports season, following a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Orange Club revealed the decision issued by the international sports court "CAS," allowing the club to return to participating in competitions organized by the Egyptian Football Association, after the association had previously excluded the club.
Previously, the board of directors of the Egyptian Football Association had announced that Orange Sports Club was not eligible to participate in the 2026/2027 sports season and excluded it from the competition in which it had been registered, due to failure to meet the legal licensing requirement necessary to engage in sports activities, effective August 14, 2026.
Statement by the Football Association regarding Orange Club
In light of the decision issued by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) concerning interim measures related to Orange Club, the Egyptian Football Association affirms its full respect for all levels and means of litigation applicable within the international football system, and reiterates its constant commitment to complying with rulings and decisions issued by competent judicial authorities.
Based on the decision concerning interim measures, the Association will take the necessary executive actions, resulting in the temporary return of Orange Club to participate in the Second Division League competition for the 2026/2026 sports season, pending final resolution of the dispute and issuance of a final judgment by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Association also wishes to emphasize that the previous decision to exclude Orange Club from the competition was neither issued individually nor arbitrarily; rather, it was based on a letter from the Ministry of Youth and Sports concerning the club's legal status, which indicated that the club had not obtained the necessary license to engage in sports activities, in accordance with the provisions of the Sports Law and regulations governing sports activities.
The Association confirms that all procedures taken in this regard were conducted within the framework of compliance with Egyptian law and football regulations, ensuring the integrity and stability of competitions, without violating any prevailing legal provisions or rules.
The Egyptian Football Association reaffirms its full respect for and implementation of the Court of Arbitration for Sport's decision, while reserving its right to present its legal arguments and defenses before the court of substance, awaiting the conclusion of judicial proceedings and the final resolution of the dispute.
