The Football Association announced the renewal of Hossam Hassan's contract as the head coach of the Egypt national team.

The Football Association revealed that Hossam Hassan's contract has been renewed for the next four years.

The Football Association held a friendly meeting on Tuesday evening, during which all details of the contract were agreed upon.

The contract signing ceremony took place during a session attended by Hany Abou Rida, Chairman of the Football Association Board; Khaled El-Dorandly, Vice-Chairman of the Association; Mustafa Azam, Secretary-General of the Association; alongside Hossam Hassan, Ibrahim Hassan, Team Manager, and Walid Badr, Administrative Director of the team.

The contract renewal comes within the framework of the Football Association Board's commitment to providing stability for the Egypt national team's technical staff and continuing work in the upcoming phase according to the established goals and plans for the national team.

The source clarified that Hossam Hassan's monthly salary, which was one million Egyptian pounds, will increase by more than 150%, a percentage higher than that of the rest of the technical staff.. Read the details here

Hossam Hassan assumed coaching duties for the Egypt national team in February 2024, succeeding the Portuguese coach Rui Vitória.

Hossam Hassan led the Egypt national team in 35 matches across various tournaments and competitions, achieving 20 wins, 9 draws, and 6 losses.

Hossam Hassan participated with the Egypt national team in both the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup.

Hossam Hassan successfully led the Egypt national team to the Round of 16 in the 2026 World Cup, marking the first time in the history of the Pharaohs' participations.

He also reached the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations but was eliminated by Senegal.

The international break will begin from September 21st until October 6th. During this period, the Egyptian national team will play the first round match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola, followed by South Sudan, and thereafter will play a friendly match currently being arranged.
