Officially.. CAF announces Egypt to host the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying for the Olympics

The African Football Confederation "CAF" announced the assignment of hosting the Africa Cup of Nations under-23 to Egypt, within the continental union's competitions agenda for the 2026-2027 season, in a step that confirms Egypt's position as one of the most prominent member states.

The Africa Cup of Nations under-23 acquires great importance, as it is the qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games, Los Angeles 2028, which gives the upcoming edition importance to the teams seeking to secure their seats in the global event.

In another context, "CAF" confirmed that significant progress has been achieved in youth competitions within the continent, indicating that Ghana will host the Africa Cup of Nations under-20 during the months of February and March 2027.

The African Confederation also revealed through its official website that Morocco will host the Africa Cup of Nations under-17 during the months of April and May.

"CAF" stressed that it allows providing more clarity regarding the dates and host countries for the member federations to plan more effectively, and provides players with clearer competitive paths, as well as giving broadcasters, sponsors, and fans greater insight into the most prominent "CAF" events.
