Ittihad Club announced the signing of Dutch player Georginio Wijnaldum, who was with Al-Ittihad, during the summer transfer window.
Ittihad Club revealed that it had signed Wijnaldum for a one-season deal before the transfer window closed.
Wijnaldum left the Saudi club Al-Ittihad at the end of last season after spending three years with the team.
Wijnaldum joined Al-Ittihad from Paris Saint-Germain at the beginning of the 2023 season.
Ittihad replaced the departure of Brazilian Fabinho from the team's midfield this season, following the expiration of his contract with the club.
Wijnaldum represented Al-Ittihad in 101 matches, scoring 38 goals and providing 17 assists. In the Saudi Pro League, he played 96 matches, scoring 36 goals and creating 16.
Wijnaldum was linked with a move to English club Chelsea during last summer's transfer window, but the deal did not materialize.
The Dutchman, who has made 96 international appearances, has a rich career in Europe, having represented English clubs Liverpool and Newcastle United, French club Paris Saint-Germain, Italian club AS Roma, and Dutch clubs Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven.
