Saudi Al-Ahli Club has officially announced the signing of Ukrainian player Artem Bondarenko during the ongoing summer transfer window.

The Saudi club had previously sparked widespread controversy after reports circulated that it had withdrawn from the deal, especially following the deletion of the official announcement regarding the Ukrainian player's signing in recent hours.

Al-Ahli Club posted images on its official "X" platform account showing the player signing contracts to join the prestigious club during the current summer transfer market.

Bondarenko's move to the prestigious team comes on a one-season loan basis, with a clause obligating the Saudi club to purchase the player's contract permanently. He joins from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.

Bondarenko's commitment to the club extends until 2029 for a fee of 8 million euros. He will wear jersey number 19, reflecting Al-Ahli's determination to finalize the deal and strengthen its squad for the new season.

Bondarenko successfully completed the required medical examinations, along with a photoshoot session for his official presentation at the club's headquarters in Jeddah, prior to the formal announcement this evening.

Bondarenko joins Al-Ahli from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, embarking on a new experience in the Saudi League, amid fans' hopes that he will prove a strong addition to the team during the current season.

This season, the Jeddah-based team is competing for all titles, most notably the Saudi Professional League and the AFC Champions League Elite, which they won in each of the past two consecutive seasons.
