Liverpool FC remains interested in signing French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni from Real Madrid, despite the English club taking no concrete steps to sign him at present.
According to the British website "Team Talk," Liverpool is still in contact with Tchouaméni's representatives, given the club's long-standing admiration for the player's abilities, having previously explored the possibility of signing him during last summer's transfer window.
Nevertheless, the deal appears difficult at the moment, especially since Tchouaméni renewed his contract with Real Madrid this summer to stay with the club until 2031, a move that confirmed the Spanish team's commitment to retaining his services.
Tchouaméni's future had been uncertain during the summer, but José Mourinho's arrival as Real Madrid's manager contributed to changing the club's stance on the player, after the Portuguese coach gave the green light for him to remain part of his plans for the new season.
Liverpool is monitoring Tchouaméni's situation at Real Madrid, and the English club may reconsider the deal in the future if the player's role under Mourinho changes or his appearances for the team decrease.
Tchouaméni has featured in a limited number of matches for Real Madrid at the start of the season, fueling speculation about his future, although the Portuguese coach relies on him in midfield alongside Federico Valverde.
It is worth noting that Real Madrid opened the door last summer to considering offers of around €80 million, before finalizing its decision by renewing the French midfielder's contract.
Liverpool's interest in Tchouaméni comes amid the club's desire to keep options open for strengthening its midfield, but signing him would require a clear change in the player's status at Real Madrid, particularly following his long-term contract renewal.
