Saudi press reports today, Tuesday, indicated that Saudi club Al-Ittihad has expressed interest in signing Algerian international winger Mohamed Amine Amoura, a player for Wolfsburg, this summer.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Okaz," the consideration to sign Amoura comes to replace French winger Moussa Diaby, who is a strong candidate to join Bayer Leverkusen.
Recently, there have been reports linking Diaby's departure from Al-Ittihad, amid efforts by Bayer Leverkusen and Inter to sign the French winger during the current summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Amoura, 26 years old, has been playing for Wolfsburg since 2025, with his contract with the German club extending until the summer of 2029. His market value is estimated at 20 million euros, according to the global website "Transfermarkt."
Amoura has played 67 matches for Wolfsburg, scoring 18 goals and providing 16 assists. He also has an international career with the Algerian national team, having played 47 matches and scored 19 goals, according to "Transfermarkt."
Al-Ittihad has also been linked in recent times with signing Iman Eshour, a player for Al-Ahly, but negotiations between the two club administrations have not been officially conducted, according to local press reports.
"Al-Amir" (Al-Ittihad) achieved a difficult victory last Monday evening against Al-Hazm, winning 3-2, in the third round of the Saudi Roshn League.
The Jeddah-based team is currently leading the Saudi Roshn League standings with seven points, pending the completion of the round's matches. Al-Ittihad has won twice, against Al-Qadsiah and Al-Hazm, and drawn one match against Al-Kholood.
