Former Al Ahly player Ahmed Shdeed Qenawy officially announced his retirement from football.

Qenawy had many experiences in the Egyptian League, but his stints with Al Ahly and Al Masry were the most prominent.
Qenawy revealed via his personal Facebook account his decision to retire from football for good.
Qenawy wrote on his account: "I am the person who stood by himself the most throughout my football career. 'No one helped me' reach the numbers and achievements I accomplished, whether in matches or titles, and I am very proud of everything I reached through my own effort, because that is not an easy thing."
He added, "Throughout my career, no coach ever gave me an opportunity out of favoritism or connections, and I never asked for that, because I did not like this path and was not used to it. Unfortunately, football now often runs on connections and favors."
He continued, "Thank you, football... The decision is very difficult, but the time has come for me to announce my retirement from playing. My love for football was and will remain great, and everyone who played with me knows that. I respected my career until the very last moment, and I never spared any drop of sweat with any club whose jersey I wore."
He went on, "I am honored to have represented Al Ahly, Al Masry, Tala'ea El Gaish, Aswan, El Entag El Harby, Haras El Hodood, and Laviina."
He added, "Praise be to God, I won 21 titles, played more than 500 matches in the league, achieved the highest number of decisive passes, and played 123 consecutive matches, equaling the historic record of the legend Hassan El Shazly, an achievement that came after long years of hard work and sacrifice."
He added, "The most precious thing I gained from football is people's respect, and that alone is enough for me. Thank you to all the coaches, to all the clubs I had the honor of defending their colors, and to everyone who supported me throughout my journey."
He revealed, "And now I begin a new challenge in the world of coaching, by joining the technical staff of Proxy Club in the Professional League, under the leadership of technical director Mohamed Hamed."
He concluded, "I ask God for success in what is to come, and that I live up to the responsibility as I always did on the pitch."
