Neymar, the star of Santos Club, spoke again, definitively about his position regarding retiring from international play with the Brazilian national team, after the Selecao's exit from the 2026 World Cup tournament.
The Brazilian national team exited the World Cup tournament in disappointing fashion, following a 2-1 loss to Norway in the round of 16 of the competition.
Neymar could not contain himself after the end of the match and broke into tears, announcing that he would not play for the Brazilian national team again and would retire from international play.
Neymar reaffirmed his statements after the match against Norway and clarified that his story with the Brazilian national team had come to an end.

Neymar said in statements reported by the newspaper "Sport": "Thank you, I appreciate what Lucas Moura said, but no, I will not continue with the national team. I believe I made history there, and I was extremely happy. I had many experiences, gave my all, and always fought for this jersey, but I think I no longer want that."
Neymar also denied the rumors that he had scolded the Santos players between halves during the match against Chapecoense in the Brazilian league, adding: "Nothing happened. If something had happened, I would have spoken. They made up a lie. Things are being said that should not happen at this club. They are spreading lies. I talk to all the players, and Bontempo is like a son to me, as he was with me after the match. It is unbelievable. Unfortunately, some have the power to use the microphone and computer to convey the news, but they do it in the wrong way."
He explained: "It is sad and frustrating, but it is not my fault. This talk reaches many people. I spoke at the end of the match and asked the players for more.
