Al-Zamalek has approached finalizing the file of its new coach who will lead the team in the 2026/2027 season.
It was learned by FilGoal.com that the Serbian Vuk Rasovic has become the closest candidate to coach the team.
It is likely that Al-Zamalek will finalize the new coach file within 48 hours.
The 53-year-old began his coaching career in 2006 as an assistant coach for the Serbian team Partizan.
He led Teleoptik in 2011 in his first experience as a head coach.
In 2013, Rasovic returned to coach Partizan but as a technical director in an experience that lasted one season.
The Serbian coach has also previously led the Belarusian team Dynamo Minsk in 2015.
Rasovic has coached several teams in the Arab region, most notably Al-Faisaly and Al-Fayha in Saudi Arabia, and Al-Dhafra, Al-Wahda, and Kalba in the UAE.
He was previously described by the International Football Association "FIFA" website in a previous report as the giant slayer for his ability to overcome big teams in the Saudi league.
During his career, Vlasovic won the Serbian league with Partizan 4 times, whether as technical director or assistant, the Serbian Cup twice, and the Saudi Cup once with Al-Fayha.
Vlasovic's last experience was with Emirati club Ittihad Kalba, during which the team played 48 matches, winning 13, losing 22, and drawing 13 matches.
Al-Zamalek had won the Egyptian Premier League title last season for the 15th time in its history.
Al-Zamalek will participate in the African Champions League next season.
Al-Zamalek is preparing to begin the preparation period for the new season after selecting the coach who will lead the team.
