The Spanish Football Federation announced the venue for the Super Cup tournament in the 2026/2027 season after difficulties hosting it as usual in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It had been customary for the Spanish Super Cup tournament to be held over the past few years in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but hosting the Asian Cup, which will take place next January, made hosting the Spanish tournament difficult.
The Spanish Football Federation officially revealed that the next edition of the Spanish Super Cup will be held in Istanbul between February 2 and 7 next.
Competing in the Super Cup are Barcelona, the league champion, Real Madrid, the league runner-up, Real Sociedad, the King's Cup champion, and Atletico Madrid, the King's Cup runner-up.
The federation confirmed that the Super Cup will return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2028 again, according to what was reported by the newspaper "Marca".
Previous reports indicated that Egypt and Qatar were among the candidates to host the Spanish Super Cup tournament, but the choice fell on Turkey.
