The session that brought together Hussein Labib, president of Zamalek Club, with John Edward, the sports director, to discuss the roadmap for the new season and the financial needs of the first football team, ended in the early hours of Tuesday.
Battles learned that John Edward presented a comprehensive financial vision that includes the salary budget for the new technical staff, players' dues, and preparation period costs, in a step to determine the financial and technical priorities of the club during the upcoming phase.
The session witnessed a remarkable shift after Hussein Labib expressed his reservation about contracting with the Serbian technical director Vuk Razovic and refused to grant final approval until some details are reviewed.
This matter caused the freezing of the preparation period arrangements and the postponement of determining the camp date and informing the players of the start of the gathering, provided that the coming hours will witness intensive meetings to resolve the technical file and the official announcement of the preparation plan.
Zamalek channel had announced in the past days that Vuk Razovic would take over the training of the first football team, provided that he arrives in Cairo within hours to take over the task of training the players.
