The Egyptian Football Association has settled its position on appointing a local or foreign coach for Egypt's Olympic team during the current period, in order to prepare for the African qualifiers for the upcoming Olympic Games scheduled to be held in Los Angeles 2028.
Egypt's Olympic team, in its last participation under the leadership of Brazilian Rogério Micale, finished fourth at the Paris Olympics.

A source told Boutoulat that the Football Association has decided to appoint a national technical director to lead the Olympic team in preparation for the qualifiers for the 2028 Olympics.
He added: "The new coach will be determined in the Federation's next meeting during the current month of July."
It is noted that the players of Egypt's youth team who participated in the World Cup in Chile under the leadership of Osama Nabih are expected to form the squad for Egypt's Olympic team.
