The Algerian Monsef Bekkar, striker of Croatian Dinamo Zagreb, received a new offer during the past hours, at a time when Al Ahly awaits the completion of his official signing procedures during the current summer transfer window.
"Batoulat" learned that Çorum club, recently promoted to the Turkish league, attempted to sign Bekkar after failing to acquire Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who recently transferred to Spanish Deportivo La Coruña, with the Algerian striker serving as the Turkish club's second choice on their list.

Nevertheless, "Batoulat" sources confirmed that Monsef Bekkar is not considering backing out of his agreement with Al Ahly, as moving to the Red Castle represents a personal dream for him, and he believes competing for continental and domestic titles in Al Ahly's jersey is preferable to a European experience with a team fighting for survival.
The sources revealed that the player spoke with his compatriot Ahmed Qandoussi upon the emergence of Al Ahly's offer, before granting his final approval, as the latter conveyed his experience inside Al Ahly and assured him that all conditions are set for success within the club.
At the same time, Monsef Bekkar has not yet signed his transfer contracts, despite the agreement being finalized between Al Ahly, Dinamo Zagreb, and the player, as the signing and medical examination were postponed until after the conclusion of the two matches against Swiss Thun in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, with the return leg scheduled for July 28.
Dinamo Zagreb's insistence on retaining their striker until the end of the two matches against Thun stems from the team's lack of a ready alternative in the center-forward position, while their offensive reinforcements so far are limited to signing a young winger from Barcelona, whereas Brazilian striker Junior Brumado from Danish Midtjylland, whom the club targets, will only become available during the upcoming winter transfer window.
