English defender Jarell Quansah, of German club Bayer Leverkusen, has entered Real Madrid's list of targets to strengthen the team's defense during the upcoming summer transfer window, given the player's ability to cover multiple defensive positions.
According to the German newspaper "Bild," Real Madrid is closely monitoring Quansah, and manager José Mourinho views the English defender as a suitable option to reinforce the backline, particularly due to his versatility across various defensive roles.
Quansah is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until June 2030, having joined the German club in the summer of 2025 from Liverpool, who retain, according to the report, a buy-back clause for the player worth €70 million valid until June 15.
Conversely, other reports suggest that Leverkusen may be willing to let the English defender leave for around €50 million, potentially opening the door to negotiations regarding his future during the next summer transfer market.
Interest in Quansah is not limited to Real Madrid, as several European clubs are also tracking the defender, thanks to his defensive versatility, making him one of the viable options to bolster the Royal Club's backline.
