Morocco added a second goal against Egypt through a counter-attack in the 33rd minute, scored by Sami Bouhaddan.
Egypt began its journey in these qualifiers by defeating Libya (2–0), then had a bye in the second round held last Sunday, before winning against Tunisia by two goals to one in the third round.
