Saudi press reports revealed today, Tuesday, that Saudi Al-Ahli Club has reached a final agreement with the officials of Portuguese Sporting Lisbon to secure the services of winger Francisco Trincão during the current summer transfer window.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiya," Al-Ahli's management has reached an agreement with the Portuguese club to sign Trincão for $40 million, in addition to financial add-ons linked to the player achieving specific goals.
The Saudi newspaper added that Al-Ahli placed 15 players on the list of candidates to bolster the right-wing position, with Trincão at the top of the list.
The newspaper indicated that Trincão underwent medical examinations in Lisbon and passed them successfully, in a step paving the way for his official transfer to the ranks of "Al-Raqi" starting from next season.
The Portuguese winger is scheduled to sign a contract with Al-Ahli extending until the summer of 2030, closing the file on the replacement for Algerian international Riyad Mahrez, whose departure was announced in recent days.
During the summer transfer window, Al-Ahli's management officially signed three players: Mishaal Al-Mutairi, Aboubakar Kone, and Eduard Spertsyan.
In return, the departure of the professional duo, Ivorian international Franck Kessié and Algerian international Riyad Mahrez, was announced.
Al-Ahli had concluded the previous season by winning two titles, starting with the Saudi Super Cup at the expense of Al-Nassr, in addition to clinching the AFC Champions League Elite title for the second consecutive season.
