Maher Gharib, Director of the Media Department at Zamalek Club, revealed the timing for announcing the transfer of Brazilian player Juan Becerra to Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai in the UAE.
Becerra had insisted on leaving Zamalek in order to join Shabab Al-Ahli in the UAE.
The Director of Zamalek's Media Department stated in remarks to Al-Nahar Channel: "Within 24 hours, the transfer deal of Becerra to Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai will be announced."
He added: "Zamalek was clear in its demands regarding Becerra; the matter was handled professionally, and the club's requests were met."
He continued: "Becerra informed Zamalek officials of his desire to leave, stating it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and thus the player would not contribute anything if he remained at the club."
He further stated: "Zamalek imposed a fine on Becerra amounting to $100,000 (5 million Egyptian pounds), which the player accepted; this is the largest penalty in the club's history."
He clarified: "Becerra has not been deprived of his league bonus, and he has received all his dues up to August 31."
He pointed out: "There is a clause stating that if Becerra returns to Egypt, Zamalek will have priority; accordingly, we also included such a clause in Hossam Abd El-Magid's contract with his Bulgarian club."
Regarding the latest developments concerning the file of the new sporting director, Maher Gharib confirmed, saying: "Hossam El-Zenati is the primary candidate to assume the position of Zamalek's sporting director, and there are no other names under consideration."
He concluded: "We are aware that several players' contracts will expire this season, but our current priorities are settling players' outstanding dues rather than focusing on contract renewals."
