Exclusive | The secret behind Ahmed Khedri's substitution in the Zamalek vs. AS Port match

Via Btolat

A source revealed the reason behind substituting Ahmed Khudri, a player for Zamalek's first football team, during their match against AS Port, the Djiboutian champions, held in the CAF Champions League tournament.

The source indicated that replacing Ahmed Khudri in the final minutes of Zamalek's match against AS Djibouti and bringing on Mohamed Ibrahim was pre-agreed by the technical staff of the White Knights, led by Moataz Gamal, before the Djiboutian team scored, due to the player feeling fatigue in his hamstring muscle.

The source confirmed in statements to Batootat that all claims suggesting the substitution was due to coach Moataz Gamal's anger over a mistake by the player are incorrect, clarifying that the entire technical staff congratulated Khudri after the match following his outstanding performance.

Zamalek defeated their counterparts AS Port, the Djiboutian champions, with two goals to one in the match played this Friday evening at Cairo International Stadium, in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League tournament.
