Exclusive | What did the referees' committee say about Mohamed Marouf's decisions in the Al Ahly vs. Zed match?

The Egyptian Referees Committee, headed by Essam El-Fattah, announced its stance on the decisions made by referee Mohamed Marouf in the match between Al Ahly and Zed FC, which was played as part of the Egyptian Premier League.

Al Ahly faced Zed in the second round of the Egyptian Premier League on Friday. The match ended with a 2-0 victory for the Red Devils.

The match featured several controversial incidents, including Zed's claim for a penalty and the awarding of Al Ahly's second goal, which led Zed FC to file a complaint against the match referee, Mohamed Marouf.

A source from the Referees Committee told Batolat: "The Referees Committee agrees with the refereeing decisions made by Mohamed Marouf in the Zed vs. Al Ahly match, and there were no significant errors."

With this victory, Al Ahly raised their points total to 6, securing second place with two consecutive wins, behind leaders Pyramids FC who have the same number of points but a better goal difference.

On the other hand, Zed sits in 16th place in the Egyptian Premier League standings, with one point from a draw in the first round and a loss to Al Ahly in the second round.
