Media personality Ahmed Shobier revealed the latest developments in the crisis surrounding Brazilian Juan Biserra, a player for Al-Zamalek’s first football team, amid his refusal to return to Cairo and his insistence on leaving.

Shobier said on his radio program on On Sport FM: “There is a division among the members of Al-Zamalek’s board of directors regarding the Biserra crisis.”

He continued: “The board agrees on the strength of Al-Zamalek’s legal position and its insistence on retaining the player up to this point, but some are calling for Biserra to be sold given his rebellion.”

He added: “Some voices argue that the player will not benefit Al-Zamalek even if he returns, and therefore they are demanding approval to sell him for $6 million in cash to end the crisis.”

He concluded: “However, the other opinion within Al-Zamalek’s board, which holds the majority, refuses to sell Biserra unless for a substantial sum exceeding $6 million, on the condition that the player returns and negotiations for his sale are conducted through the club.”
