Media reports have confirmed that English club Newcastle United has reached an agreement to sign Spanish midfielder Nico González from Manchester City.
Newcastle is seeking to sign a midfielder to compensate for the departures of both Brazilian Bruno Guimarães and Italian Sandro Tonali.

Fabrizio Romano, the transfer market specialist journalist, reported via his account on the social media platform "X" that the deal's value will be £47 million plus £3 million in add-ons, and that the player has agreed to join Newcastle.
Nico González's career with Manchester City
The 24-year-old player has a contract with the Citizens until the summer of 2029.
The Spanish star joined Manchester City in January 2025, arriving from Portugal's Porto for €60 million.
Last season, the Spanish midfielder participated in 41 matches across all competitions for Manchester City, scoring two goals.
The midfielder won both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup once each with Manchester City.
