The Turkish site "SuperHaber", quoting journalist Yagiz Oglu through his program on YouTube, revealed the behind-the-scenes of the ongoing negotiations between Besiktas club and the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.
According to the site, Oglu confirmed that he contacted Mohamed Salah's representatives, who explained that their request was to obtain only 25% of some revenues related to the deal, denying reports that spoke of larger financial demands.
The Turkish journalist said: "I spoke with Mohamed Salah's representatives before the program, and they confirmed that they only asked for 25%, and that they will agree to the deal if an agreement is reached".
He added that Mohamed Salah's income from the deal will approach 20 million euros, noting that Besiktas presented the highest offer to the player, despite other offers from clubs in the American league and the Saudi league.
Oglu explained that the Besiktas administration, led by sports director Onder Ozin, decided to temporarily withdraw from negotiations after dealing coldly with the player's agent's demands regarding revenue sharing, but he confirmed that the deal is not over yet.
He pointed out that Besiktas requested 50% of shirt sales and 100% of international sales, while negotiations are still ongoing to reach an agreement on the mechanism for distributing returns.
The Turkish journalist concluded his statements by confirming that Mohamed Salah has not rejected Besiktas' offer yet, saying: "I think that if the profit-sharing issue is resolved, Besiktas will conclude this deal, but it may take a few more days".
