"Mundo Deportivo" newspaper revealed developments regarding the future of Julian Alvarez, Atletico Madrid star, and the possibility of the player transferring to Barcelona during the current summer transfer window.
Barcelona have made Julian Alvarez a target for signing this summer, as the Blaugrana seek to add a pure striker following Robert Lewandowski's departure to Chicago Fire.
Mundo Deportivo reported that Barcelona are in no rush to sign Alvarez, as the Blaugrana already have depth in attack, especially after signing Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon this summer.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta had confirmed that the Blaugrana's €100 million offer for Alvarez would expire at the end of July.
Barcelona believe Ferran Torres can play as the main striker next season, alongside the new duo of Gordon and Adeyemi, while Dani Olmo and Raphinha are also capable of filling that role.

The newspaper added that Barcelona coach Hansi Flick wants to sign a top-class pure striker this summer, but the Blaugrana will not make an ill-considered move in the transfer market due to limited options.

Atletico Madrid are more inclined to sell Alvarez to Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain than to Barcelona, while coach Diego Simeone has called the player up for the Spanish club's pre-season, with the Argentine international expected to join the Rojiblancos on August 10.
