Mundo Deportivo newspaper spoke about the developments in Hamza Abdel Karim's situation with the first team at Barcelona Club, as the Blaugrana continue their preparations for the new season.
Barcelona has just finished its training camp in Italy, where the Blaugrana played two friendly matches within the triangular tournament, against Nottingham Forest and Udinese.
Hamza Abdel Karim played all the friendly matches with Barcelona's first team throughout the preparation period, and performed well, scoring two goals against Birmingham City.
In this context, Mundo Deportivo mentioned that Barcelona coach Hans Flick decided to reward Hamza Abdel Karim, as the Egyptian international remained with the first team alongside Álvaro Cortés, and the rest of La Masia's players were excluded from the preparatory period for the season, in a strong indication of the German coach's admiration for the abilities of the former Al Ahly striker.

The newspaper added that Barcelona players were given a rest yesterday, Sunday, after the end of the Italy training camp, and returned to training this morning with the presence of the first-team players, alongside Hamza Abdel Karim and Cortés.
It explained that Flick's exclusion of the rest of Barcelona's La Masia players other than Hamza Abdel Karim and Álvaro Cortés does not mean their exclusion from his calculations in the coming period, as they may return to training in the coming days.
It added that Barcelona's training saw the presence of two goalkeepers from the youth category, namely Yakubishvili and Iker Rodríguez, while Anthony Gordon and international goalkeeper Juan García returned to training yesterday, Sunday, and completed training today.
Mundo concluded by saying that the rest of Barcelona's international players will return next Wednesday, after the end of the summer break, awaiting the resolution of some departures and the arrival of new players in return.
