Mourinho demands Real Madrid sign a new defender
The Spanish newspaper indicated that the defensive line was one of the biggest problems for the Royal Club last season.
Marca added that the Royal Club signing a new defender requires one of the players to depart, with the main target being Raúl Asensio, despite his current injury.
The Merengues had signed French international Ibrahim Konaté in the current summer on a free transfer following the end of his contract with English club Liverpool.
Asensio holds a contract with Los Blancos until the summer of 2031.
Several Spanish press reports had indicated that Asensio will be absent from the pitch for 6 weeks after suffering a muscular injury to the rectus femoris muscle in his right leg.
