South African Rulani Mokwena, Pyramids FC's head coach, believes his team's valuable victory over Ghazl El Mahalla reflected the performance delivered during their pre-season preparation for the new campaign.
Pyramids defeated their hosts Ghazl El Mahalla 3-0 in a match played as part of the first round of the league competition.
Mokwena, Pyramids' coach, told OnSport: "Congratulations on this victory to all members of Pyramids FC. The pre-season preparation was very good, and Ahmed El-Shenawy told me it was one of the best preparatory periods the team has undergone."
He added, "We prepared well, and the Ghazl El Mahalla match was a reflection of what we delivered and trained on during the pre-season."
He concluded his remarks by saying, "I am very happy with scoring three goals, especially given the manner in which they were scored, as we all trained on these patterns. I am also pleased with keeping a clean sheet, and we can continue delivering this level in upcoming matches."
